Vision
Loving Homes for All Pets.
Mission
Saving Animal's Lives and Promoting Responsible Pet Parenting & the Human-Animal Bond.
History
Second Chance Humane Society has been working with the Ouray and San Miguel County communities and beyond since 1994 to address the needs of homeless pets of this region. We have grown from a small grassroots volunteer driven foster care program to an established organization with a fully staffed shelter and thrift shop and numerous community services. With your support we have maximized our current shelter and made substantial progress in preparing for the huge task of building and operating a new shelter.
Today
In addition to operating our shelter at a greater capacity than ever before, we rehabilitate, re-home, and nurture hundreds of homeless pets a year. We also operate critical spay/neuter and other prevention programs on a daily basis. We work to humanely control feral cat populations, provide education and promote the human-animal bond on a regular basis to countless community members of our service region and beyond. None of this would be possible without the generous support and interests of our surrounding community, visitors, and other animal welfare advocates. We hold the deepest gratitude for all that you do. Please contact us if you have further questions on any of our programs or services or how you can partner with us to further the shared vision of Loving Homes for All Pets.
